At least one person was killed, several others were wounded in the latest gun battle between Al Shabaab fighters and Ethiopian troops of AMISOM contingent in central Somalia.
The combat flared up when heavily armed militants laid a siege on a military base belonging to Ethiopian troops near Galhareri town in Galgadud province on Tuesday, resident said.
SNA – Somali National Army base in the area was also came under attack, according to the resident told on Idale News.co condition of anonymity, fearing his own safety.
There were reports of casualties on both warring sides, but the exact number of the deaths and wounds remain unclear as local authority did not comment on the attack.
