UN envoy condemns attack at Mogadishu seaport

UN Special Representative of the Secretary General for Somalia Michael Keating  has condemned a deadly Al shabaab suicide car bomb attack at Mogadishu seaport on Sunday morning, Idale News Online Reports.

In a Twitter post, the UN envoy has he deeply shocked by so many civilian deaths caused by bomb near Mogadishu harbor. Al Shabaab claimed responsibility for carnage which left at least 20 people.

The bomb blast has occurred at police tax office outside the seaport as many people, mostly truck drivers were at the scene in the morning hours, according to the eyewitness.

Al shabaab said at least 30 Somali police officers were killed in the attack which was carried out by a bomber in a minibus packed with explosives.
