Uganda has sent another contingent of 2,275 troops to serve under the African Union Mission for Somalia AMISOM.
Chief of Defense Forces Gen. Karumba Wamala dismissed talk by those saying that UPDF troops in AMISOM will mutiny because of the delay of their allowances.
The East African country was the first to deploy troops under AMISOM into Somalia in March 2007, to help the weak western-backed Somali government in the fight against Al Shabaab.
Uganda has lost many soldiers in the war on Al Shabaab.
In September, 2015, Al Shabaab has attacked AMISOM base in Janale town in Lower Shabelle region, where dozens of UPDF soldiers killed, and several taken as hostages.
