Somalia is likely to push back its forthcoming election to December 15, which was expected to take place on the 30th November, 2016, according to the electoral calendar.
Speaking at BBC Focus on Africa, UN envoy for Somalia Michael Keating said the presidential election of Somalia could be postponed to next month since the parliamentary elections were not completed yet.
Mr Keating said the 275-seat of the parliament will vote for the next president in 15 December.
The postponement of Somalia’s presidential election comes amid international community calls for a credible and inclusive electoral process in 2016.
The International community and United Nations have in the past urged all parties to implement the electoral calendar without further delay.
