Khatumo administration has accused its arch-rival SomaliLand of fueling feud between two armed clan militias which has been going on several small area near Las-Anod town.
Speaking to Local media, the deputy interior minister of Khatumo State Abshir Abdulaziz Sheikh said at least 80 civilians were killed in the ongoing tribal clashes in Sool region.
“SomaliLand is providing arms to one of the clans involved in the conflict and it will take the overall responsibility the deaths of 80 innocent people and those fled their houses,” he said.
The clan battle is going on in Dharken-Genyo and Dhumay villages, two rural areas located in the outskirts of Las-Anod city, the headquarters of Sool region in northern Somalia.
Somaliland, which is a self-declared state that the international community has recognized as an autonomous region of Somalia did not comment on the accusation of Khatumo state.
