Al Shabaab says it has killed 6 KDF soldiers in an ambush attack on a base of Kenyan troops in Lamu Island near Somalia border.
An unnamed Al Shabaab commander told a pro-militants’ media the death of the Kenyan soldiers killed in the base attack, a claim that KDF has denied.
Kenyan military spokesman Col. David Obonyo said KDF killed four Al Shabaab members in Milimani, Lamu County and recovered a rocket propelled grenade, four AK47 rifles, an IED & two hand grenades.
Mr Obonyo said after a tip-off from residents, KDF troops raided a suspected house in Milimani area and killed four militants and seized their weapons, including IEDs.
