The curfew in Marka city, the regional capital of Lower Shabelle region in southern Somalia continued for the third consecutive day on Saturday following deadly blasts on army barracks.
Local security officials have imposed day and night time curfew in the coastal city, along with strict security measures, to maintain law and order and make sure the security.
According to residents who said curfew has made on impact on their daily life and business and public transpiration as security forces order the villagers to stay at doors.
“The city is under curfew, there is no any business, Govt troops are not acting like a national army, they are using excessive force against civilians similar to AMISOM,” said a local woman.
The woman who did not want to give her name for security reason said Main roads in the downtown areas have been blocked off, with vehicles of security forces parked across roads.
The curfew was imposed on the town after suspected Al Shabaab gunmen have attacked Somali army bases with grenade bombs, killing at least three people, injuring a dozen.
