Somali president arrives in Baidoa city

A high-level delegation led by the caretaker Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has today arrived in Baidoa, the interim headquarters of south west state of Somalia.

The finance minister Mohamed Ibrahim Farketi is accompanying the president on his visit to Baidoa city, where they are expected to meet with South West state leader Sharif Hasssan Sheikh Aden and other top officials.

The city’s overall security has been beefed up and tightened ahead of the president’s arrival.

Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is running for second term in office in the coming presidential elections after his mandate has expired on September 10, 2016.
