Somali Military Court Sentences 5 People To Death Over Explosions in Baidoa town – INO

Baidoa(INO)- Somali Military Court has on Saturday sentenced 7 suspects who were accused of being behind the latest attack in Baidoa town in southern where over 30 people killed in twin attacks a week earlier.

Prosecutors were the case of these men for about a week and listened to all issues relating to their involvement and evidence on the case according to court officials.
“5 of the suspects were sentenced to death penalty, one was sentenced to three years of prison and the other one was released after he was no found guilty” Chairperson of the Somali Court, Ali Hassan Shute said.

Mr. Shute said the military court will take action against all perpetrators and bring before justice.

The military court of Somalia carried out such death penalty judges earlier.

The Court usually takes cases of the militant group of Al-Shabab and members of the Somali National Army who are accused of killings.
