Puntland to resume Lower House elections following sustention

Puntland state in northeast of Somalia has announced it will resume the voting for the lower house chamber of the federal parliament after a suspension over power-sharing quarrel.

An official at a state-level electoral commission in Garowe, told reporters that Puntland admin will re-open the parliamentary polling stations on Saturday (10the December, 2016).

The electoral delegates of Puntland are expected to elect 16 remaining MPs, among them 4 female lawmakers to meet the 30-pecent women quota, according to the unmanned official.

The decision came after a two-day National consultative forum (NCF) on the country’s election was wrapped up in Mogadishu on Thursday, and issued a joint communiqué.
