Baidoa(INO)-Unidentified gunmen shot dead a famous Somali cleric in south-western Somalia, the fourth cleric killed in the town since last month, residents said Saturday.
Sheikh Aden Maalin Abdullahi was killed at his home after gunmen raided the house in the town, the latest murder of a religious leader in the town which has seen series of attacks targeting the clerics.
Security forces have nabbed two suspected men after the attack on the Sheikh who led Islamic prayers at a local mosque in the town.
There were no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks targeting the town’s religious leaders; however, security officials blamed the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabab group.
