Baidoa (INO) – Pistol-wielding assassins have on Monday Night gunned down a religious Muslim cleric in southern west of Somalia strategic city of Baidoa, 4rd cleric killed in the town for last year, On Monday,Idale News Online reports.
Sheikh Mohamed Addow Hillowle prominent Muslim cleric has been shot dead by suspected Al shabaab gunmen in his house at Bardale village in Baidoa, 250Km south of Mogadishu, according to the local authorities.
The killing of Mohamed Addow Hillowle was the latest in series of targeted assassinations against Scholars in the city. 18th January 2015, gunmen killed in Baidoa Sayid Ali Sharif Nor better known as Sheikh Siidkeey.
3rd February 2015, two men armed with pistols belonging to Al shabaab group murdered Sheikh Hussein Hassan popularly famous (Soor-madaare). Local people have accused Al shabaab of being behind all the bloodshed.
Finally No group has yet claimed credit for the slaughters on religious leaders in Baidoa, and the police has not so far arrested the perpetrators who committed the killings.
