Somalia’s police commander General Mohamed Shiekh has called for the Somali youth to take part Banaadir’s security despite threats imposed by Al-shabaab on the region.
The police chief has delivered the remarks while attending a wide ranging security meeting held in the Somali capital in which officials warn youths from joining the islamist radicals fighting in the horn of African nation.
He said that Somalia is rising up from domestic conflicts which had forced millions to displace from their country as a result of an intense war in 1991.
“Youths have a vital role in peacemaking process, we are sincerely asking them to collaborate with the police authorities and security departments in Mogadishu “ he said .
The Al-Qaeda linked militants, Al-shababab recruits youths to confront against the Federal forces and AMISOM forces in Somalia.
