A mass demonstration against the newly formed Jubba regional parliament has today been held at Dr. Ayub stadium in the strategic town of Baidoa. The demonstration is organized by South-west State of Somalia, local politicians and traditional elders in SW State.
Interior Minister of South-West State of Somalia, speaking to Idale News Online “INO” confirmed the protest at Dr. Ayub Stadium in the strategic town of Baidoa. He said that the protest is to formally support for Somalia lawmakers in federal parliament’s motion against the newly formed Jubba regional parliament and IJA (Interim Jubba Administration) formed process.
“The protest was against what is happening in the so called Interim Jubba Administration, the main traditional elders and politicians who participated the protest said that they have nothing to with what is happening in Kismayo and that they all condemn it ” he noted.
Finally, Malaq Deerow, the main traditional leader in South-West State blamed the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) in Eastern Africa and United Nations Special Representative for Somalia, Nicholas Kay for their support and responsibilities on what is going on in Kismayo and watching the illegitimate tasks and injustice without taking proper action to stop it.
“People of South-West of State are expressing their concern over the situation in Kismayo” he said.
