ISWA parades captured ISIS commander in Baidoa

Authorities in Interim South West State of Somalia have paraded an alleged Islamic State commander, along with three collaborators who have been captured in Bay region by security forces.

The minister of disarmament and rehabilitation of South West state  Hassan Mohamed Hussein said the detained leader was in charge of IS’s operations in Bay region of southern Somalia.

Mr Hussein said the IS leader and his fellow fighters were orchestrating an attack in undisclosed location in Bay region, before they were detained by South West State forces in operation on Friday.

Recently, Somali federal government has displayed a defected Al Shabaab commander in Mogadishu. The leader was the head of education of Al shabaab in Bay and Bakool regions before he defection.
