Luuq(INO)-Over new fresh 3,000 Ethiopian troops crossed into Somalia on mission to drive Al Shabaab from Gedo province.

Resident in Luuq Ganane reported Ethiopian troops with tanks and armoured vehicles have been seen in the town.

Its reported the troops together with local forces are on mission to drive Al Shabaab from Bardheere , Al Shabaab major last stronghold in the country.

In the past months , the local forces have been mobilising for offensive attack against the group in the region.

The Islamist militants have lost most of the territory they once controlled in Somalia but still carry out large-scale attacks.

Ethiopian troops are part of AMISOM   which played major role in driving Al Shabaab out of its major strong hold in the country.
