The leader of the interim Jubbaland administration Ahmed Madobe has accused the federal government of failing to put an end to the war on Al Shabaab militants.
Speaking in an interview with State-run News Agency, Madobe said the country’s president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his prime minister Omar Abdirashid Sharmake are responsible for slow military operations against Al Shabaab.
Madobe’s comments come as the Somali army, backed by African Union mission in Somalia (AMISOM) forces, make slow advances towards Al shabaab stronghold in south and central Somalia.
“The top leadership of the federal government of Somalia should direct the funds fromthe International community intended for the fight against Al Shabaab,” said Ahmed Madobe.
He said the long-term presence of Al Shabaab is to upend the political system by making the country insecure, and that can only be achieved through major military and funds co-ordination.
