KISMAYO, Somalia (INO) — The notorious former Al shabaab leader Ahmed Madobe has given his clan militiamen an order to gun down any person suspected of carrying out acts against Kismayo security, Idale News Online reports.
Local residents are in shock over Madobe’s death order which could slide into lethal clan feud in the coastal city of Kismayo, a town served as an economic and military strategic hub for the Al Qaeda-linked Al shabaab insurgents for years.
The leader of Jubba has been responsible numerous assassinations targeted well-known local traditional elders who voiced concern over the daily killings, robbing and raping against resident of Kismayo.
Since 2012 when Ahmed Madobe wrested control of the seaside lucrative city, the residents became victims of atrocities committing by clan-based Ras Kamboni Militiamen and their allied Kenyan defense forces (KDF).
Over the past few weeks, several bullet-riddled dead bodies were found lying at the beach of Kismayo who have been snatched from their houses and killed by Madobe’s loyal armed militiamen.
