Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said his government and its people will not surrender to the terrorists, a day after deadly Al Shabaab attack on Mogadishu hotel.

The president has sent a heartfelt condolence to the family and friends who lost their loved ones in Nasa-Hablod hotel attack that left at least 15 people, including state minister.

“Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return, On behalf of the Somali Federal Republic, I convey my deepest personal sympathies for those killed and injured in this barbaric and heinous attack on Nasa-Hablod hotel,” said Mohamud in a statement.

“I fiercely condemn this deadly attack against innocent fasting Muslim people. The country’s armed forces will keep on the fight against the Al Qaeda-linked Al Shabaab militants until the nation is secured.”

The President wished a quick recovery for those wounded, and, for those who lost their lives, to rest in eternal peace, and for blessings on those families affected.
