A man clad in Somali army uniform has opened fire at a school bus in Daynile district in Mogadishu killing one person and injuring four others among them three students.
Witnesses told IdaleNews.com the man stopped the bus and conducted a search before opening fire indiscriminately.
“A soldier who was dressed in Somalia National Army uniform stopped the bus and did some little search before opening fire at the vehicle killing one person. He was dressed in Somalia National Army uniform,” a witness said.
The man then fled the scene before security forces arrived, sources added. IdaleNews could not independently establish if the man was an officer in the military.
There have been incidents of the military and AMISOM opening fire at vehicles in parts of the country.
