The electoral commission of Somalia has warned a further delay of the selection of the representatives in the upper house of the country’s upcoming parliament.
The commission said in a statement the regional administrations have failed submit the list of the upper house lawmakers candidates on its deadline (5 Oct, 2016).
“Somali election commission is calling again on all the regional states to tender the list of the upper house MPs in two days time’ the statement read out,
The election commission’s call came after an earlier deadline marked on 5 October, expired. Somalia is approaching a critical period of election this month.
