Suspected Al Shabaab assassins have shot and killed a senior Somali army officer in Mogadishu on Wednesday morning, witnesses said.
The witnesses who spoke to Local Media said unknown men armed with pistols have attacked the military officer Yahye Ali Aden in Dharkenley district.
No information on the killers who reportedly escaped the scene after the murder. The police arrived the crime site and launched a probe into the killing.
Mogadishu has seen increasing attacks on army personnel and government employees as the country is approaching towards elections later this year.
