Somali leaders at the National leadership forum (NLF) in Mogadishu have on Sunday increased the number of the upper house chamber seats ranging from 54 to 72 seats.
According to a joint a communique, the NLF leaders have agreed to expand the upper house seats by adding 18 additional seats after weeks of heated talks in Mogadishu, Somali capital.
The NLF allocated 3 more seats to each federal member state as following;
- Somaliland 14 seats,
- Puntland 14 seats
- Galmudug 11 seats,
- Hirshabelle 11 seats,
- Galmudug 11 seats,
- Jubbaland 11 seats.
