Lawmaker Mohamed Omar Dalha says the country’s parliament has been overthrown by the National leadership forum (NLF), as the nation heading to elections later this year.
Speaking to local media, Dalha said federal government and regional leaders took the duty of the parliament, ruling the electoral model.
“The MPs have nothing to do now, their job was overthrown by the central and regional leaders after agreeing electoral model without parliament approval,” said Dalha.
The MP has ruled that Somali parliament wants to extend its mandate beyond 2016 elections, that marks the end of the current national assembly and government.
