Somali Police has improved the security of Jowhar, the administrative capital of Hirshabelle after conducting a number of security operations to hunt down pugnacious individuals in the town, police commissioner said.
Middle Shabelle police commissioner, Khaliif Abdulle Abdi, said the town is already enjoying the fruits of this operations as crime levels have reduced as a result of the good relationship with the local population, who have become vigilant and quick to report any suspicious elements hiding amongst them.
“They have made our work easy by taking control of their own safety and that of their neighborhood and they work very closely with the security forces,” said Abdi.
He said the police have been combating the domestic front of the Al-Shabaab and its sympathizers.
He emphasized that they will work day and night solve the problems that hinder the realization of peace and security in communities.
“We will fight peace undermining factors in all its forms and manifestations, irrespective of who their sponsors are,” he said.
Hirshabelle state which youngest regional state formed in Somalia has recently concluded the elections of Lower House in Jowhar.
