Al Shabaab militants said they have launched a coordinated bomb attack early Thursday on Kenyan police convoy in Fino Town in Mandera County.
In a report broadcasted by pro-al shabaab media outlet said at least 6 Kenyan police officers died in Improvised Explosive device (IED) blast targeted on army convoy near Mandera.
Kenyan security officials have confirmed the attack, saying the police convoy came under roadside explosion while travelling in the vicinity of Fino, northeast of Kenya.
The officials however did not comment on the casualties.
