Suspected Al Shabaab Gunmen have shot and wounded a senior Somali military commander in the conflict-riddled horn of Africa capital, Mogadishu on Tuesday.
Two pistil-wielding ambushed Col Dirie Qarshe, the officer while leaving his residence at Hosh nighbourhood in Dharkenley district early this morning.
The military commander has sustained slight gunshot wounds in the shooting and he was taken to hospital for medical treatment, according to residents.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the assassination attempt which was the latest in string of assaults in Mogadishu.
