MP Khadija Mohamed Dirie has addressed the parliament on Sunday on her candidacy for the 1st deputy speaker of the new parliament a head of the election on Thursday, January 11.
Ms Khadija who served as Women and Human Rights Minister in the outgoing government has delivered a valuable and emotional speech to federal MPs as part of her campaign for the seat.
During her speech, Ms Khadija has promised to tackle corruption in the government and will fight for the right of the lawmakers if elected as the deputy speaker of the federal parliament.
MP Khadijo Mohamed has requested the MPs to vote for her in the coming deputy speaker election. Several candidates, including MP Farah Abdulkadir are also competing for the seat.
“I ask the young women in the parliament as well as the men to vote for me, and help me win the election for the first deputy speaker of the parliament,” Ms Dirie said during her campaign speech.
