The president of the Somalia’s northeastern semi-autonomous state of Puntland Abdiwali Mohamed Ali Gaas & a delegation he is leading is set to visit Galkayo.
Puntland president who was in Addis Ababa has cut short Ethiopia visit following two suicide attacks on Galkacyo’s local government headquarters on Sunday.
Gaas and the other officials in his delegation will arrive at Galkayo airport on Sunday noon, and sightsee the wounded victims at the city’s general hospital.
Sunday’s double suicide attacks in northern Galkayo has left at least 20 people, including civilians dead, while more than 30 others were wounded, some critically.
Puntland regions has been beset by deadly Al Shabaab attacks in the past few months as Garowe administration struggling to tackle with the growing presence of Al Shabaab and ISIL.
