At least two people, including a soldier were killed, and another wounded in grenade bomb blast in Bakaro, Mogadishu’s biggest market on Tuesday, police said.

The attack occurred when a suspected Al Shabaab assailant has thrown a hand grenade into a group of Somali government soldiers collecting tax from business centers in Bakaro market, said police officer.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but police blame Al Shabaab for the bombing that left at least two people dead in Bakaro market explosion.

Mogadishu has seen deadly attacks, including car bombings in recent months as Somali troops and AU forces are fighting the Al Shabaab militants for nearly a decade.
