Allied troops raid militants base in southern Somalia

Forces from Interim South West Administration backed by Ethiopian soldiers serving under AMISOM have attacked an Al Shabaab base in southern Somalia on Saturday.

The attack has led to a fierce gunfight between the militants and the allied forces that raged on for several hours at Rahole village which lies 50Km north of Diinsoor town.

At least two civilians have been killed, while multiple people were wounded in the combat between Al Shabaab and the coalition forces in southern Somalia on Saturday.

Diinsoor district commissioner Ibrahim Mohamed Nur, told Local Media by phone that the attack was aimed to execute senior Al Shabaab commanders in the area.

Al Shabaab did not make a comment of the attack and claim of Diinsoor DC.
