Somalia: Gunmen open fire on passenger bus, kill two

At least two people are known to have been killed, and two others wounded after unknown gunmen have opened fire on a civilian bus in southern Somalia on Thursday.

The incident took place on a highway between Bulo-Mareer and Golwayn villages in Lower Shabelle region, where AMISOM killed 4 civilians in a shooting on civilian bus this year.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for Today’s shooting. The local officials did not comment on the incident. The injured victims were taken to hospital for treatment.

Al Shabaab has a immense presence in the southern region, and the militants have been carrying out hit and run attacks on AMISOM and Somali government forces in the past.
