Hussein Hassan, a traditional elder has accused Jubbaland troops of committing “widespread and systematic” atrocities against civilians in Gobweyn area located in the outskirts of Kismayo city, 500Km south of Mogadishu.
Speaking to Radio Idale On Baidoa Office, the elder has confirmed that soldiers loyal to Jubbaland state have rapped women and girls in Gobweyn village, where there are no any bases by Somali Govt troops.
Residents in Gobweyn village have called for protection and bring to an end the continuing executions, rape and robbery by Kismayo-based Jubbaland soldiers backed by Kenyan defense force (KDF).
However, the officials of Jubbaland state have strongly denied the accusations, saying there were no any wrong doing by its troops in Gobweyn area.
