Muqdisho(INO)-President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has called on the committee charged with solving Jubba crisis to swing into action two days after the federal parliament passed a motion disbanding the Jubba assembly.

President Hassan stated that he and his premier Omar Sharma’arke have discussed with the interim Jubba administration over the contentious issues that led to the motion.

“We have agreed to form a cabinet level committee to look into the grievances raised by the clans that live in Jubbaland,” he said.

Hassan Sheikh similarly underscored the need to solve any political disagreement with dialogue, saying the country has seen enough of bloodshed and political abyss.

“I and the members of the federal parliament are on the same page when it comes to the realization of Vision 2016 and the formation of well-structured regional administrations,” he said, adding that regional administrations were important part of the reconciliation effort towards a stable country.
The presidential statement comes barely two days after the interim Jubba administration stated that it had cut ties with the central government in Mogadishu after the federal parliament passed a motion de-legitimising the Jubba assembly.
