Unidentified gunmen have shot and killed a prominent elder in Mogadishu on Saturday night, the latest in series of targeted killings in the war-torn capital.
Mohamed Mohamud Farah, the elder was assassinated at Towfiq area in Mogadishu’s Yaqshid district, a relative has confirmed to media
The killers are reportedly escaped from the scene shortly before Somali security forces arrived, and launched a search for the suspects.
The motive behind the murder of the elder remains unclear.
