Residents in a Somali town held by Al shabaab said they found a decapitated body Sunday in Tiyeglow, in Bakool region, where the militants took over from the Ethiopian troops last week, on Sunday Idale News Online Reports.

The locals could not confirm the identity of the body, but said he was a villager likely to have been beheaded by Al shabaab fighters who often execute people in the area vacated by SNA & AU forces.

The decapitated man  arrested by al-Shabab militants in Tiyeglow  last week, hours after Ethiopian and Somali government troops suddenly vacated the town, sources said.

Residents have expressed shock and panic over the execution of the beheading, and they say Al shabaab could carry out further executions against people they accuse of spying SNA and AMISOM.

Al Shabaab group has intensified its raids on government controlled towns in south and central Somalia in the past weeks in a bid to overthrow the Somali Govt in Mogadishu.
